Barndominium Insulation

A barndominium is a metal building you live in, so it needs both: closed cell foam where the metal would sweat, and a comfortable, quiet, efficient house inside. We plan the foam layer by layer and schedule it around your drywall date.

How we usually insulate a barndo

  • Exterior metal walls and roof: closed cell foam against the panels to stop condensation
  • Extra depth where you need it: open cell over closed cell for depth at a lower cost, where the design allows
  • Shop side: closed cell to protect tools and equipment from drip
  • Interior walls: optional open cell for sound between bedrooms

Every layer, thickness and area is written into the proposal and checked in the completion report.

Building in the Hill Country

We work from San Antonio out to Boerne, Comfort, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Bandera and Canyon Lake. Tell us your builder's schedule and we will hold the date.

For owner-builders

If you are running your own build, we will walk the building with you before the framing inspection and tell you what needs to be done before foam day: electrical rough-in, plumbing, window and door flashing, and anything that needs to stay unsprayed.
