What moves the price
- Square footage: roof deck area is larger than the floor below it because of the roof pitch.
- Depth: more inches means more board feet. Closed cell usually goes on thinner than open cell for the same job.
- Foam type: closed cell costs more per board foot and is the usual pick for metal buildings and roofing.
- Access and prep: tight attics, existing insulation removal and masking add time.
- New build or retrofit: open walls in new construction are faster to spray than finished homes.
Ways to lower what you pay
- CPS Energy rebate: up to $0.35 per square foot for qualifying contractor-installed attic insulation, projects completed February 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027. Check the rules.
- Federal tax credit: ended for insulation placed in service after December 31, 2025. Source: Instead: what Section 70505 ended for the 25C credit.
- Right-size the job: sometimes added attic floor insulation does the job for less. We will tell you when it does.

Common questions
How much does it cost to spray foam a 2,000 square foot house?
It depends on whether the foam goes on the roof deck or in the walls, the depth, and open or closed cell. Using the national material figures above, open cell at 6 inches runs $2.64 to $3.90 per square foot of coverage before labor. A site visit gives you a real number.
Is spray foam worth the cost in Texas?
It is a good fit when ducts or equipment sit in the attic, when air leaks are a problem, or on metal buildings. In a simple attic with nothing up there, more floor insulation can be the better value. We will tell you which on the visit.
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Estimates and site visits are free.
